Research Activities in Mobile Health (mHealth)

Overview: Mobile health (mHealth) provides the opportunity to collect information from patients, to provide early interventions, and to connect patients with healthcare providers. mHealth informatics seeks to build algorithms for processing signals obtained from mobile devices, to build intelligent machine-learning based diagnostics, and to create cloud infrastructure for sharing and processing data. Projects in this mHealth at Emory include the Healthy Aging Study, an Atlanta-based study of over 100,000 people to uncover the mechanisms of aging and to develop early detection and better interventions for Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer.
