Research Summary: Clinical and Translational Informatics for Clinical and Anatomic Pathology Laboratories. Dr. Carter's research spans the breadth of Pathology Informatics and focuses on quality improvement through use of informatics.  Current projects are all focused on clinical patient care and include improvement of blood product utilization, use of synoptic reporting for molecular and FISH laboratories, implementation of digital pathology and telepathology, improvement of information systems for molecular laboratories and use of barcoding and RFID on laboratory specimens.
